The House of Representatives has passed the Zadroga proposal. People who responded as emergency personnel or worked on the cleanup of the September 11 violence get extended health benefits via this bill. You will find demonstrated long term health effects from individuals on the site that day, who breathed in fumes, dust, and particles of debris. The bill is branded for a policeman who had been one of the very first to respond, James Zadroga. Zadroga perished from respiratory complications. His involvement on 9/11 may have contributed to his passing.
House passes the Zadroga proposal
The Zadroga bill, or otherwise known as the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, has just passed the House of Representatives. It passed quite very easily with a 268 to 160 vote. The James Zadroga bill, as outlined by the New York Times, will cost $7.4 billion. About $3.2 billion of the cash will be used to help those from Ground Zero. Any illnesses or injuries from it could be looked into. It is expected that New York City will help with the costs. 10 percent of it should be paid by the city. A September 11 Victim Compensation fund would be set up also with about $4.2 billion in that.
Arguments occurring with this law
This is not the first time the House saw this proposal. It had been seen once before. In July when it was first introduced, it did not get the two-thirds majority that was needed to pass it. The Republicans proposed the amendment that made it so the bill was introduced like that. The feared amendment would have blocked illegal immigrants from receiving benefits under the original version of the James Zadroga act. James Zadroga is controversy also. Many dispute about those facts. He didn’t actually die from anything related to September 11, said the examiner. This was after doing an autopsy of the body. There was a fairly heavy debate over the first bill. Both Anthony Wiener and Peter King were involved in this.
People who made it out of Sept 11 alive
Severe health effects have been harming the survivors of the September 11 violence along with the reaction and cleanup crew. Medical care is being given to 60,000 of these people. They were all affected by the very same thing.
